“What did you say?” Danielle eyed their lunch boxes. “Yes, I am starving. Let’s eat!”

Emerson’s brows puckered for a second before she sat.

“Are you nervous about paintball?” Emerson asked as she unearthed her sandwich.

“No, Cooper asked me if I wanted to be his partner.”

“I mean about using a gun. You’ve never even fired one before.”

“It’s paintball,” Danielle replied. “How difficult can it be?”
